Job summary

Grand Living in Sugar Land, TX, is seeking a Health & Wellness Assistant to create exceptional daily experiences for residents by providing compassionate care, supporting independence, and delivering personalized service.

You will assist with activities of daily living, participate in wellness programs, and work with Nursing, Culinary, Lifestyle, and Hospitality teams to ensure a first-class resident experience.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year experience assisting with activities of daily living preferred.
• Experience with seniors strongly preferred; CNA/CMA credentials preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for effective communication.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, stoop, and stay active during shifts.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (dressing, eating, grooming, mobility, toileting, etc.).
• Support residents per individualized care plans while promoting dignity and independence.
• Observe residents and report changes to the nursing team.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and families.
• Participate in community activities, wellness programs, and events.
• Collaborate with Health & Wellness, Culinary, Lifestyle, and Hospitality teams to ensure strong resident experiences.
• Ensure thorough and accurate documentation for all services.

What You’ll Do

As a Health & Wellness Assistant, you’ll help create exceptional daily experiences for residents by providing compassionate care, supporting independence, and delivering personalized service through The Sterling Touch®. Whether assisting with activities of daily living, supporting wellness initiatives, helping with medication administration (where licensed), working in Luminations® (memory care), or simply being a trusted companion, you’ll make a meaningful difference every day.

In This Role, You Will

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including dressing, eating, grooming, personal hygiene, mobility, communication, and toileting
• Support residents in accordance with their personalized care plans while promoting dignity, independence, and well‑being
• Observe residents and communicate changes or concerns to the nursing teamBuild meaningful relationships with residents and families while creating a warm, engaging atmosphere
• Participate in community activities, wellness programs, dining experiences, and special events
• Work collaboratively with Health & Wellness, Culinary, Lifestyle, and Hospitality teams to deliver an exceptional resident experience
• Ensure exceptional documentation is submitted for all services provided or declined
• Deliver care that is professional, respectful, timely and personalized
• Help create an environment where every resident feels valued and cared for

What You Bring

We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about service, hospitality, and senior care.

Preferred Qualifications Include

• High School Diploma or GED, required
• One or more years of experience providing assistance with activities of daily living, highly preferred
• One or more years of experience working with seniors, highly preferredCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and/or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) credentials, preferred
• Experience with caring for seniors will be considered in lieu of licensure
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive attitude and genuine desire to enhance the lives of others
• Ability to read, write, and understand English in order to communicate effectively with residents, guests, supervisors, and team members
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull, and remain active throughout the shift
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
