Merakey in Southwest Philadelphia, PA invites you to join our team as a Direct Support Professional. You will support individuals with daily living activities, assist with personal care, and help them engage in meaningful community activities in parks and sensory gardens.

By following the Individual Support Plan, you’ll promote independence, coach daily living tasks such as housekeeping and laundry, and encourage social and communication skills while working a rotating evening schedule 3pm–11pm.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• High School diploma/G.E.D. preferred.
• Experience in a home health aide setting or school setting with IDD is preferred.
• Desire to help others reach their fullest potential.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities and personal care.
• Encourage independence by teaching housekeeping and laundry tasks.
• Follow the Individual Support Plan to support goals and skills in social/communication areas.
• Help individuals participate in community activities and outings in parks and sensory gardens.

Position Details

Our ideal Direct Support Professional candidate will have a strong desire to create long-term impacts on their consumer’s lives and enjoy encouraging, mentoring, and coaching others to achieve their goals. Spend your day in a variety of settings making memories with our individuals. By following the Individual Support Plan, you can enjoy your days at the park and sensory gardens, while working on social and communication skills. Enhancing independence by assisting with daily hygiene and personal care. Foster a true sense of pride in your individual, by teaching them to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry.

Schedule: Week 1: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 3pm-11pm Week 2: Monday-Thursday, Saturday 3pm-11pm
