Job summary

Stanislaus County Department of Workforce Development is seeking compassionate caregivers in Modesto, California, to provide non-medical support for seniors at home. Qualifications

Our caregivers provide compassionate, non-medical support that promotes safety, independence, and quality of life for seniors and adults who need assistance at home.

CAREGIVER SCOPE OF CARE:

• Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
• Bathing, grooming, hygiene
• Dressing and toileting support
• Mobility assistance and safe transfers
• Incontinence care
• Medication reminders
• Meal preparation and hydration support
• Light housekeeping and laundry
• Transportation using caregiver’s vehicle (with mileage reimbursement)
• Companionship, social engagement, routine support
• Safety monitoring and fall prevention
• Communication updates to family as appropriate
• Support for memory care needs (Alzheimer’s & dementia-friendly approaches)
• Collaboration with home health, hospice, rehab, and other providers for continuity of care (non-medical role)

CAREGIVER CERTIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS:

• Active HCA Registration through CDSS (includes fingerprinting/background check)
• Valid driver’s license
• Valid auto insurance for transportation assignments
• Current TB test and physical within the last 90 days
• Prior caregiving experience preferred but not required
• Friendly, patient, adaptable, and professional demeanor
• Strong communication skills and willingness to coordinate with families and the Amada care team
