Job summary

Allpro Homecare in Memphis seeks a compassionate Caregiver to provide non-medical support to veterans and other clients in their homes. You will offer companionship, assist with daily activities and help maintain a safe, clean living environment.

Varying shifts are available Sunday through Saturday, with part-time and full-time options based on client needs. The role includes duties such as meal prep, light housekeeping, and assistance with mobility, hygiene, and daily routines.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to pass a background check (every 2 years).
• State-required SOR and Abuse Registry check (then annually).
• State-required Personal Reference Check.
• State-required 5-year employment history checks.

Responsibilities

• Offer companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Assist with housekeeping.
• Aid clients with transfers and ambulation using cane, walker, wheelchair, or Hoyer Lift.
• Assist with bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Plan, prepare and serve meals with client assistance as needed.
• Aid with toileting including use of bedpan or toilet.
• Report unusual events to the administrator.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Complete other duties per the Client Service Plan.

Duties and Responsibilities May Include (depending on Client Service Plan):

• Offering companionship and emotional support
• Housekeeping
• Assists clients with transfers and ambulation including use of cane, walker, and wheelchair or Hoyer Lift (specific to client)
• Assists clients with bathing, dressing and grooming
• Plan, prepare and serve meals, with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Assists clients with toileting, including use of bedpan, or toilet
• Report on any unusual events or occurrences to the administrator
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Completes all other duties within the Client Service Plan

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old

• State-required Personal Reference Check
• State-required 5-year employment history checks
• 1 year caregiver experience
• Valid driver’s license/state ID and reliable daily transportation
• Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations
• Adequate physical endurance
