Job summary

Sevita’s NeuroRestorative division is hiring a caregiver in New Jersey to support clients with daily living activities and safety needs. The role includes helping with bathing, meals, and transportation, plus companionship and safety oversight, in a community-based setting with weekend shifts.

The starting pay is $16.25 per hour, with potential increases of $0.50/hr for 1–4 years of experience and $1.00/hr for 5+ years. A driver’s license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in human services or caregiving preferred, but not mandatory.
• Valid (for at least 1 year), non-probationary driver’s license with no restrictions or provisions.
• Minimum age: 18 years.
• Successful background check clearance.
• Caring attitude and dedication to supporting others.
• Ability and willingness to safely bend and lift to assist clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene
• Transport clients to appointments utilizing company vehicles
• Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping
• Support wheelchair assistance and safe transportation
• Provide companionship and meaningful conversation
• Ensure overall safety and well-being of clients
• Use proper lifting and bending techniques to physically support clients

Job description

NeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a range of programs, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans.

Full Time | Sun./Mon. 7a-3p & Fri./Sat. 3p-11p

Starting Pay:

$16.25/hour

• Additional $0.50/hour for 1–4 years of experience
• Additional $1.00/hour for 5+ years of experience

Preliminary Requirements

• Proof of non-probationary driver’s license held for at least one year
• Ability to attend orientation (Tuesday–Friday, Daytime)
