Job summary

Visiting Angels Albuquerque is seeking a dedicated Caregiver to support local seniors across Albuquerque and nearby communities including Los Lunas, Peralta, Bosque Farms and South Valley. The role focuses on companionship, basic daily tasks, mobility assistance and safe, respectful care.

The position offers growth through training in dementia or Alzheimer's care, with a variety of shifts including full-time, part-time, and longer 8–12 hour options.

Qualifications

• Passion to serve others - a true caregiver.
• Emergency response and first aid knowledge.
• Adherence to health and safety standards.
• Strong ethics, compassion and reliability.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor's appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client's shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
