Job summary

HomeWell Care Services seeks part-time caregivers to support elderly clients in their homes in the Madison, MS area. Responsibilities include companionship, light housekeeping, meal prep, grooming, and transportation for appointments. Prior caregiving experience is preferred; CNA/HHA licenses are a plus.

You may be invited for an interview if your application is approved. Applicants should be punctual, reliable, and able to lift up to 150 lbs.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of caregiving experience.
• CNA or HHA license preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift at least 150 lbs.
• Must pass criminal background check, drug screen, and TB test; CPR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and support to clients.
• Assist with housekeeping, laundry, and meal prep.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Assist with ambulation and medication reminders.
• Provide transportation for appointments and errands.
• Life enrichment activities and help with pets.

HomeWell Care Services provides non-medical personal care, companionship, and homemaker services for our clients so that they can remain in the comfort of their own home for as long as possible. We serve clients in Madison, Hinds and Rankin county. Our office location for the interview and orientation is in Madison Mississippi.

Responsibilities and Duties:

With dignity, compassion, and care, your duties include, but are not limited to:

• Companionship
• Housekeeping and laundry
• Cooking and meal prepping
• Bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting
• Assistance with ambulation and medication reminders
• Transportation for appointments and errands
• Bed bound and incontinence care
• Life enrichment (visiting parks, playing board games, exercise, painting and crafts)
• Help with pets

Qualifications and Skills:

• Must have at least 1 year experience or more (CNA or HHA license preferred but not required)
• Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position
• Must have available reliable transportation. If transporting clients, must have proof of a valid driver's license and automobile insurance
• Must possess excellent communication skills
• Must be able to lift at least 150 lbs. (Assisting and transferring clients)
• Must be able to perform all job duties in description
• Pass a criminal background check (national and any required by the state)
• CPR certified preferred
• Must pass a drug screen and TB skin test
• Must be able to be around animals (cats and dogs)
