Job summary

Home Instead is seeking experienced Care Professionals to support a client in the Galena and Elizabeth, Illinois area. The role focuses on keeping the client safe, comfortable, and connected at home through attentive personal care and mobility support.

Pay ranges from $16.00 to $18.00 per hour, with an additional $1 per hour for weekend hours. Weekend availability includes Saturday shifts: 8:00–12:00, 9:00–12:30, 5:00–9:00, with occasional weekday fill-ins. Training and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Comfortable working alongside a spouse with limited eyesight who is actively involved in care.
• Understands and respects medication-assistance boundaries.
• Hands-on personal care, including bathing and shower assistance.
• Safe mobility and fall prevention.
• Skilled with gait belt and walker use.
• Hands-on transfers and knowing not to rush a client who is weak or unsteady.
• Toileting, brief changes, peri-care and skin protection.
• Supporting a client with mild dementia using a calm, patient approach.
• Preparing simple, nutritious meals.
• Proactively encouraging hydration.
• Light housekeeping and helping maintain a safe, comfortable home.
• Following a detailed care plan rather than improvising.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate in-home care to help a client stay safe and comfortable at home.
• Assist with daily activities, personal care, and mobility while respecting boundaries.
• Follow a personalized care plan and communicate any changes to the office.

Pay

$16.00 to $18.00/hr - paid semi monthly

Additional $1/hr for weekend hours

Schedules Available for Saturday

8:00 am to 12:00 pm

9:00 am to 12:30 pm

5:00 pm to 9:00 pm

May also have occasional fill in shifts during the week
