Job summary

Chandler Park Assisted Living in Bowling Green, KY is hiring a Caregiver. You will provide daily personal care, assist with mobility, monitor resident conditions, and document vital signs and intake/output. The role requires compassion, professionalism, and respect for resident rights.

Qualifications

• Prior experience giving personal care in a health care setting preferred.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Highest level of professionalism with confidentiality.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provide residents' care (grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care) daily and as needed.
• Change bed linen and maintain grooming supplies in resident rooms.
• Ambulate and transfer residents using assistive devices and proper technique.
• Record vital signs, weights, intake/output, and meal consumption.
• Turn and position residents; prepare rooms with necessary items.
• Report changes to Charge Nurse at shift start and during shifts.
• Respond promptly to call lights and treat them as emergencies until addressed.
• Seek guidance from charge nurse when unsure of tasks or procedures.
• Provide care that respects resident rights, privacy, and dignity.
• Respect resident choices and handle property with care.
• Address residents by name unless requested otherwise.
• Observe and report unusual changes or refusals of treatment.

Schedule:PRN - Varying days and shifts

Compensation:starting at $16.00

We are seeking a dedicated Caregiver to join our team. As a Caregiver, you will provide care and clinical-related services consistent with each resident's comprehensive assessment and care plan. Caregivers are expected to deliver all care with kindness, compassion and joy.

• Provide residents' care (i.e., grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, etc.) daily and as needed
• Change bed linen and regularly maintain appropriate grooming supplies in the resident's room
• Ambulate and transfer residents, utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics
• Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other information, as assigned
• Routinely turn and position residents as necessary. Preparing each resident's room with necessary items such as blankets, pillows, medical equipment, and toiletries
• Ensure a report has been given regarding his/her residents at the beginning of each shift
• Respond to call lights/buzzers promptly and courteously, considering each light an emergency until answered
• Seek assistance from the charge nurse when unsure of an assignment, procedure, or situation
• Provide care that protects and promotes resident rights, dignity, privacy, confidentiality and active participation
• Offer and respect resident choices and handle all resident property with respect
• Refer to residents by proper names unless the resident requests otherwise, avoid the use of all pet names
• Observe and immediately report to Charge Nurse, ADON or DON unusual occurrences, significant changes in resident's physical or behavioral condition, patterns of decreased social interaction, angry or sad behaviors, and refusals of treatment

Work Experience Requirements:

• Prior experience giving personal care to individuals in a health care setting preferred
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills
• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
• Work independently, maintain confidentiality and professionalism, and be a positive leader
• Demonstrate practical interpersonal skills as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills
• Maintain good working relationships with residents and co-workers
• Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds and bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach and sit for long periods
• Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned
