Role Description

The Caregiver role is a full-time, on-site position based in Austin, TX. Caregivers provide non-medical personal assistance, including helping with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. They may assist with mobility, transfers, and safe ambulation, while monitoring for changes in a client’s condition and reporting concerns to supervisors. Caregivers support clients with companionship, conversation, and engagement in daily routines and activities that promote independence and well-being. The role also includes following individualized care plans, maintaining accurate documentation, adhering to safety and infection-control guidelines, and collaborating with families and agency staff to ensure consistent, reliable care.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, meal preparation).
• Skills in housekeeping tasks such as laundry, light cleaning, and maintaining a safe, organized home environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust, offer companionship, and collaborate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
• Capability to follow care plans, observe and report changes in client condition, and maintain accurate, timely documentation.
• Awareness of basic safety, infection control, and emergency procedures, with the ability to respond calmly and appropriately.
• Previous caregiving, home care, or related experience in personal assistance or supportive services is strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; relevant training or certification (such as caregiver or home health aide training) is a plus.
• Reliable transportation to and from client locations in Austin, TX, and ability to work a consistent full-time schedule.
• Ability to lift, support, or assist clients safely as needed, and to perform the physical tasks required for daily care.
