Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a licensed fixed wing pilot for its Careflight program. You will be responsible for flying fixed wing transports, from dispatch to termination, ensuring safety and compliance with FARs and company manuals.

Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and aircraft manuals is required. You will coordinate with Operations leadership, manage pilot and aircraft scheduling, and work across bases as needed.

Qualifications

• Licensed pilot with FAA Commercial Certificate and instrument rating for single-engine land and multi-engine land on hire.
• FAA Medical Certificate (First or Second Class) on hire.
• Total flight hours: 1500; cross-country 500; night 100; instrument 75 with 50 in actual flight.

Responsibilities

• Obtain weather briefing and plan flights considering altitude, terrain, weather, fuel load, and facilities.
• Ensure flight operations comply with FARs, Operations Specifications, and company policies.
• Follow AFM checklists for all items.
• Coordinate with Operations leadership to resolve operational issues.
• Oversee ongoing operations of the flight program per safety/quality standards.
• Schedule pilots and aircraft in coordination with leadership.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for timely repairs and maintenance.
• Assist crew with enplaning/deplaning per flight requests.
• Maintain knowledge of company manuals and applicable regulations.
