Job summary

Trinity Industries, Inc. is hiring a Career Welder at our Fort Worth, TX plant. You will apply welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair metal parts according to blueprints and work orders.

You will inspect completed work and perform basic maintenance on equipment, following safety rules to protect yourself and team members. As a Welder, you will use manual, automatic, or semi-automatic welding equipment, lay out pieces with jigs, and ensure conformance to specifications.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related welding experience or more is required.
• Experience with MIG and FCAW welding processes is required.
• FCAW qualifications for 2G, 3G and 4G positions are preferred.
• Ability to weld out of position including vertical and overhead.
• Must be able to climb ladders or stairs and work at heights.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces and remain physically fit.

Responsibilities

• Hand weld in all positions, including fillet and groove welds.
• Repair and fabricate parts according to layouts and blueprints.
• Perform oxy-fuel welding as needed.
• Perform carbon arc welding as required.
• Conduct one or two NDE tests to verify weld quality.
• Follow safety rules and participate in safety initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As a Welder at Trinity, you’ll apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches using manual, automatic welding, and/or semi-automatic welding equipment. You will use jigs/holding fixtures to lay out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders and use manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials. Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and performs minor maintenance to equipment.

What you’ll do:

• Hand weld in all positions, fillet and groove.

Qualifications

What you'll need:

• Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
• Experience with MIG and FCAW is required.
• FCAW (2G, 3G & 4G).
• Ability to weld out of position (vertical & overhead).
• May require working above ground (15 ft or more).
• Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects and comfortable with heights.
• May require working in narrow or confined workspace for extended periods of time.
• Tasks may require physical strength and dexterity.
• May require extensive kneeling, bending and standing for long periods of time.
