Job summary

GADSDEN JOB CORP CENTER is seeking a Career Transition Services Specialist to guide separated students during the service period, providing placement opportunities (employment, apprenticeship, and post-secondary education) and transition services. You will build strong relationships with employers, community colleges, and other partners to ensure meaningful placements and career pathways.

Documentation of services, confidentiality, and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or related field.
• Associate’s degree with 2 years’ related experience and relevant skills may qualify.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level.

Responsibilities

• Counsel students on job search, resume writing, and interviewing for college, employment, or military paths.
• Maintain regular contact with students before/after separation to provide placement and transition support.
• Verify employment, school, or military placements in compliance with regulations.
• Develop partnerships with employers to offer career opportunities for graduates.
