Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions is seeking a Workforce Transition Specialist to assist separated students with employment, apprenticeships, and post-secondary opportunities. You will build relationships with employers and education partners to secure pathways for graduates.

The role involves documenting services, coordinating with community agencies, and delivering individualized career support to promote economic self-sufficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field; or
• Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field, and 2 years’ related experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level.
• Valid driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record.
• Successfully pass background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Coaches students in regards to looking for a job or applying for college or military; assists students with job search, resume writing, and interviewing skills.
• Contacts students prior to separation, immediately following separation, and at least every 30 days post separation to provide placement and transition assistance.
• Verifies employment, job upgrades, and school and/or military placement in compliance with government regulations.
• Develops and maintains partnerships with employers to place Job Corps graduates in jobs with career potential.
• Maintains transition check log to account for check distribution for graduates and verifies addresses prior to mailing checks.
• Submits a monthly report to management detailing the placement activities performed and the contacts made.
• Participates in outreach trips to network with potential employers and school officials. Attends career and college fairs.
• Maintains confidentiality of student records.
• Assists OA/CTS staff in communicating eligibility requirements to youth, influencers, and potential employers.
• Creates and maintains partnerships with One Stops or Job Service agencies to coordinate services.
• Conducts follow-up calls with graduates to ensure continued employment.
• Inputs active electronic case notes, monthly, on students eligible for career transition services.
• Obtains placement verification documents for clients placed in jobs, schools or military services.
• Provides job leads to students in transition period, graduates, and former enrollees.
• Maintains accountability of students and property; adheres to safety practices.
• Promotes career success standards through mentoring and role modeling.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.
