Job summary

Camillus House Inc. is seeking an Employment Specialist to work with eligible clients in the North Dade area. You will match job seekers to suitable positions, guide education and training options, and ensure clients have the skills and confidence to apply, interview, and remain employed.

You will collaborate with Case Managers and Workforce Development teams to set individualized goals, address barriers, and build relationships with employers to create opportunities for Camillus House clients.

Qualifications

• Education: BA degree in business, social work or psychology preferred, but any combination of academic training and experience may be considered, particularly in employment placement/training programs.
• Language: Proficiency in oral/written English
• Skills: Proficiency in computer (Word, Excel, other data collecting programs).
• Background check: Valid background checks including toxicology and Level II screening may be required.
• Driver License: Valid FL Driver License with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Accept referrals for employment services and provide job placement, career development, and employment retention support to clients.
• Complete employment assessment to identify employment history, skills, interests, barriers, and goals.
• Identify appropriate employment opportunities and match clients with job openings based on qualifications and goals.
• Assist clients with job searches, resumes, cover letters, and other employment-related materials.
• Prepare clients for employment interviews, including coaching and mock interviews.
