Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Detroit seeks an Employment Services Specialist to deliver workforce development services, guiding clients through employment search, career exploration, and state system registrations. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required. 3+ years of related experience may be considered.
• Minimum of three years of experience in a results-driven environment such as workforce development, educational, or social/human services.
• Facilitating Career Development certification preferred.
• Knowledge of confidentiality, ethical standards, and customer service policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide employment services for clients and external partners.
• Assist clients with state workforce system registration, work search documentation, identity verification, certifications, and unemployment insurance.
• Guide clients in creating profiles in labor exchange systems and job search resources.
• Assist with résumé development, applications, online databases, digital literacy, and virtual interviewing.
• Serve as agency liaison for state workforce programs ensuring compliance with mandates.
• Assess client needs and provide referrals to training, education, and employment opportunities.
• Promote services and partnerships to facilitate referrals and collaboration.
• May obtain Facilitating Career Development certification.
