Job summary

United American Indian Involvement, Inc. in Los Angeles seeks a Workforce Specialist to assess customers’ employment needs, develop service plans, and guide clients toward unsubsidized full-time jobs.

The role includes ongoing counseling, training, and partnership-building with local agencies and employers; travel to outreach events is expected. You will determine eligibility, create Individual Employment Plans, conduct workshops on resume writing and interview skills, and monitor progress.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or combination of equivalent education and experience.
• 1–3 years related work experience in workforce development or related areas.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or combination of equivalent education and experience preferred.
• CWDP and/or CCSP Certification preferred.
• Experience with DOL, WIOA, EDD, and DPSS regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach to local agencies and businesses to promote program services and opportunities.
• Administer and review comprehensive customer assessments to identify strengths and needs.
• Determine eligibility and create an Individual Employment Plan of services.
• Provide ongoing employment counseling and career coaching.
• Build relationships with employers and community partners for resources and job opportunities.
• Maintain contact with customers to ensure timely activities and reporting.
• Facilitate job preparedness workshops on resume writing, interviewing, and financial literacy.
• Coordinate recruitment and outreach activities for UAII workforce programs.
