Job summary

NC School District is seeking a Career Academy-Career Development Coordinator to support Career and Technical Education (CTE) Academies at a high school. The role coordinates career development services to help students transition to postsecondary education and employment, working closely with administrators, teachers, parents, and community partners.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Google Apps.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data to inform academy decisions.
• Clear and concise written and oral communication.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with school officials and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the main point of contact for the Career Academy and promotes its tenets.
• Collaborates with school, community, and industry leaders to provide work-based learning events.
• Maintains fidelity of the academy model including cohorting and course sequencing.
• Plans and leads district-wide events for students and participates in professional learning at various levels.
• Collects and analyzes academy data and shares with stakeholders as appropriate.
• Recruits industry partners and postsecondary educators to join the Career Academy Advisory Board.
• Creates and distributes marketing materials and recruits students for the academy.
• Monitors student performance, behavior, and attendance and assists with interventions.
