Goodwill in Tallahassee is hiring a Career Navigator to assist individuals with career exploration, pathway planning, and access to work-readiness resources. You will connect participants with staff and community partners to prepare for job placement and retention, documenting progress along the way.

Primary Function:
The Career Navigator initially assists individuals with career exploration, career pathway development, and resources to overcome obstacles and barriers. The Navigator then connects individuals to other members of the Goodwill team and partners in the community who can assist the individual with work-readiness skills, career training, job search, job referrals, and job placement/retention.!!The Career Navigator is responsible for conducting weekly individual or group intake assessments and creating individual career development plans. This includes finding solutions to barriers and challenges and ultimately documenting progress toward goals. The Navigator oversees each individual’s journey from the initial intake all the way through job placement and retention. The Navigator maintains close communication with all involved staff and community partners to ensure the needs and concerns of each participant are addressed and the goals of each participant are met.

Requirements:
Demonstrate experience in career development, job development and job placement required.
Ability to develop and facilitate engaging career development related workshops to groups.
Self-directed and motivated.
Effective team player.
Comfortable and adept with using computer and mobile computing technology like Wi-Fi, laptops, smart phones, Microsoft Office products, Google web-based products, databases, etc.
Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students.
Demonstrate organizational and office skills in developing, managing and tracking program materials, processes, and procedures.
Effective human services skills such as coaching, mentoring, supervision, motivation and tracking of such services required.
Previous experience developing relationships with prospective employers required.
Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software applications
Keyboard skills.
Case Management experience.
Associates degree in Human Services Required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
