Job summary

Responsibilities

Role Description

The Career Navigator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Texarkana, AR . This role supports individuals in identifying career goals, developing action plans, and accessing training and employment opportunities aligned with Goodwill’s mission. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with program participants, assessing skills and barriers to employment, providing career counseling, and connecting individuals to education, training, and job placement resources. The Career Navigator maintains accurate case notes and documentation, collaborates with internal staff and external partners, and monitors participant progress toward employment and retention outcomes. The role also involves facilitating workshops or group sessions on job readiness topics, supporting employer outreach efforts, and promoting Goodwill programs in the community.

• Candidates should possess strong career counseling and case management skills, including goal setting, individualized service planning, and progress tracking.
• Candidates should possess communication and interpersonal skills, such as active listening, clear verbal and written communication, and the ability to build trust with diverse participants.
• Candidates should possess organizational and administrative skills, including time management, accurate recordkeeping, and proficiency with basic computer applications and data entry.
• Candidates should possess community outreach and partnership-building skills, including the ability to collaborate with employers, training providers, and social service agencies.
• Candidates should possess coaching and facilitation skills, such as leading job readiness workshops, providing one‑on‑one guidance, and motivating participants to achieve employment goals.
• Relevant experience in workforce development, social services, education, or a related field is beneficial.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; postsecondary education in counseling, social work, human services, or related areas is preferred.
• Must have a clear Motor Vehicle Report.
• Ability to work on-site in Texarkana, AR, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate a strong commitment to Goodwill’s mission of changing lives through education, training, and employment.
