Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and execution of educational and support programs
  • Promote long-term workforce aligned with each individual’s career goals
  • Ensure every interaction reflects Goodwill’s ACE culture, mission, and values
  • Facilitate or directly provide career coaching assistance services to employees and clients including intake, assessment, vocational and financial guidance, career and education search, and placement support. Assess the need for JOFI assessment and understand the methodology of Opportunity Accelerator (OA).
  • Meet and communicate regularly with all assigned employees and clients. Establish relationships and maintain contact with employers to promote employment or advancement for eligible job seekers.
  • Build relationships with store managers of the employees that are assigned to caseload.
  • Be able to meet with employees to discuss goals during their work shift without interfering with their work performance. Being able to work with donated good employees to facilitate discuss goals as needed.
  • Create Individualized Service Plans to address short- and long-term career and educational goals. Use a variety of strategies to assist employees and clients in overcoming barriers to employment and educational goals.
  • Communicate regularly with key staff at community partner organizations and develop and maintain up-to-date community resource guide.
  • Ensure client documentation is completed in a timely manner, and is appropriate according to individualized plans, verified by signatures as well as being accurate and in compliance with all state and federal guidelines.
  • Teach work readiness skills in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Conduct one-on-one follow-up in person, by phone or by email with employees and clients to continually monitor their efforts, measure progress on their action plan, and provide accountability.
  • Ensure successful completion of the onboarding process for new GIA employees in conjunction with the site leader/manager.
  • Assist in the interview prep and interview process for donated goods applicants in the locations in their service area.
  • Possess the professional judgment necessary to make referrals to GIA Human Resources, EAP, and other providers to help support clients/employees.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Additional Information

  • Experience in program development and classroom instruction.

  • Adhere to client privacy rights and HIPPA requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employers, clients, supervisors, and the general public.
  • Ability to provide vocational counseling, build self-esteem, access resources, and network.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
