Qualifications

• Passing grade on the written portion of the CDL exam; must pass driving portion with tanker endorsement, no air brake restrictions (Class A or B), interstate status (EI/NI) within 60 days.
• Medical-physical exam including drug test, and work simulation.
• National background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain highway systems: fill joints/cracks, patch potholes, flag traffic, and set up traffic control.
• Maintain and repair highway facilities: signs, guardrails, curbs, gutters, and equipment.
• Operate vehicles to transport personnel and materials; snow plowing and ice control; mow right of way.
• May repair bridge decks and drains, and work at heights using ladders or scaffolding.
• May install/repair signs, inspect signs, and pour sign footings.
