Job summary

Valtir Llc’s Orangeburg Plant in Orangeburg, South Carolina is hiring two Career Galvanizer team members. Starting rate is $19 per hour with potential bonuses; shifts are 5:00 am–1:30 pm or 6:00 am–2:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

The role involves general labor, material handling, and adhering to strict safety and quality controls in a heavy industrial setting. Requires at least 1 year of related work experience, ability to operate overhead crane and forklift, and the capacity to lift up to 120 lbs

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor in the galvanizing plant as required.
• Handle and maintain cleaning equipment and materials, including hazardous chemicals; move material.
• Pile and store materials, pallets, skids, and holding devices per safety regulations.
• Inspect tools and equipment; maintain work area; operate overhead crane and forklift as certified.
• Adhere to safety procedures, wear protective gear, and work in hot/cold, noisy environments.

Starting Rate: $19 per hourplus the ability to qualify for monthly and quarterly bonuses.

Full Time: M-F, 5:00 am to 1:30 pm or 6:00 am to 2:30 pm

As a Career Galvanizer, under supervision, you will perform general labor work as required including but not limited to:

• Handles and maintains cleaning equipment and materials, including hazardous chemicals, and moves material
• Piles and stores materials, products, components, pallets, skids, holding devices, etc., as required in and about the Galvanizing plant in accordance with safety regulations.
• Check tools and equipment in observance of safety regulations. General housekeeping of work area.
• Hang parts, stack and unstack; Familiar with Quality Control; Cleans and prepares surfaces with water and/or hazardous chemicals; certified to operate overhead crane; maintains equipment and work environment; determines preparedness of material for coating; Works under supervision.
• Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures / guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes safety wear such as hearing and eye protection, protective clothing and steel-toed shoes.
• Conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, and noisy within a fast paced, heavy industrial plant environment.

Job Requirements:

• Possess at least one (1) year of relevant work experience,
• Safely and efficiently performs all essential functions.
• Familiarity with quality control.
• Certified or be able to operate overhead crane and forklift.
• Ability to function as a team member and to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Must be able to lift up to 120 lbs and stand for most of the shift.
