Qualifications

• BA/BS in Sociology, Psychology, Career Services, Counseling, Criminal Justice or Human Services (preferred).
• Minimum of two years' experience in career coaching, workforce development or job placement for adults.
• Experience with individuals affected by mental illness, substance abuse, or homelessness required.
• Ability to travel and maintain flexibility in schedule; willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• Strong analytical, evaluative and human service management skills; excellent communication and organization.
• Ability to build relationships with employers, government agencies and external organizations for employment opportunities.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to assess employment needs and develop a viable job search plan.
• Assist clients with resume development and job search activities.
• Guide clients in exploring training, certification, and education programs for long-term employment.
• Conduct workshops on resume writing, interview skills, online applications, attire, and time management.
• Develop partnerships with employers, trade schools, and government agencies to create opportunities.
• Coordinate client participation in external job fairs and events; escort clients as needed.
• Plan and coordinate internal job fairs; schedule computer lab usage and monitor behavior.
• Document all client interactions and employment-related activities in case notes; track attendance and referrals.
• Prepare reports to support departmental initiatives and client outcomes.
