Job summary

The Career Design Studio Content Creator at Montserrat will produce short-form videos for social media and twice-monthly emails. You will interview student employees, supervisors, and professionals about the Creative Employment Initiative and CDS programs. Mentorship and training are provided.

5 hours/week, spring 2027, $15/hour. Work will involve campus visits and video editing on a phone or computer, with regular feedback from the Asst. Dean and Communications team.

Responsibilities

• Develop a semester content strategy and timeline for interviews and videos.
• Schedule interviews with students, supervisors, and creative professionals.
• Create interview questions for interview subjects.
• Film subjects using a phone camera and edit branding in Canva or AfterEffects.
• Incorporate feedback to produce a strong final video for posting.
• Write catchy video descriptions and coordinate with Communications Director for posting.

Pay: $15/hour

Total estimated hours per week: 5 hours

Expected Duration of Job: Spring 2027 (5 hours/week)

Summary of Job

The Career Design Studio Content Creator supports the Career Design Studio by creating short-form video content for Montserrat’s social media and the Career Design Studio’s twice-monthly emails. The Content Creator interviews and videos student employees, supervisors, and creative professionals about the Creative Employment Initiative and other Career Design Studio programs and the impact they’re having on Montserrat, Beverly, and students’ lives/careers. Training for this position is provided!

Duties

• Determine a content creation strategy and timeline for the semester, including the types of people you will interview and how many short-form videos you can produce, with the assistance of the Asst. Dean of Career Design and the Career Design Studio Communications & Design Coordinator.
• Schedule interviews with students, supervisors, and other creative professionals
• Create interview questions
• Interview and film subjects using a phone camera.
• Edit and brand using Canva, AfterEffects, or other short-form video editing applications.
• Utilize feedback from Asst. Dean and other CDS student employees to create a strong final video.
• Write catchy video descriptions.
• Send videos to Montserrat’s Communications Director for posting online.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

• Visiting different buildings around campus will be required, although this will also require time sitting and doing editing work on your phone or a computer.
