Colby College invites experienced professionals to apply for a full-time Career Design Advisor and Business, Financial Services and Consulting Professions Specialist within the DavisConnects Office. You will develop and lead Colby's advising system for business-related careers, helping students assess fit, build relevant skills, and navigate post-graduate opportunities.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree strongly preferred or equivalent professional experience.
• Coach, advise and mentor students in business, financial services and consulting trajectories.
• Knowledge of labor-market trends, recruiting timelines, and hiring practices in business sectors.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build productive relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, employers, and external partners.
• Strong organizational skills; manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Team-oriented and collaborative across DavisConnects to support students and graduates.
• Commitment to expanding access to career information and opportunities for diverse backgrounds.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as the primary DavisConnects advisor to students and alumni interested in business, financial services and consulting; help assess interests, pathways, and plans for post-graduate success.
• Provide industry-specific guidance on internships, job searches, recruiting timelines, networking, resumes, cover letters, interviews, case interviews, and related processes.
• Design and deliver workshops, alumni conversations, employer programs, industry forums, job treks, and experiences that expose students to these fields.
• Cultivate relationships with faculty, coaches, staff, alumni, parents, employers, and partners to expand mentorship and employment opportunities.
• Maintain current knowledge of labor-market trends, recruiting practices, and employer expectations in these sectors; use data to inform program improvements.
• Collaborate with DavisConnects colleagues on communications and outreach about resources and opportunities.
• Advise and support student clubs and organizations; engage peer learning and access to career resources.
• Where capacity allows, teach a January Plan course relevant to the Advisor’s subject matter.
