Job summary

Lao Family Community Development, Inc. (LFCD) is hiring a Career Coach to serve CalWORKs, GA and CalFresh recipients, placing them in unsubsidized or subsidized work.

The role will be based in North Oakland at CPET offices, guiding participants from intake through job placement and retention. Responsibilities include recruiting employers, creating Individual Employment Plans, and providing job club, coaching, and follow-up support to help participants advance in the workforce.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in social work, psychology, or related field, with 2–3 years of experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish is highly desired.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure with strong time management and communication skills.
• Flexible schedule with some evenings and weekends.
• Must pass background check and be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Outreach to recruit employers and job seekers; facilitate program orientation and intake assessment.
• Set up Individual Employment Plan (IEP) and provide case management, counseling, job placement and retention services.
• Track attendance and input data into CalSAWS; maintain participant rosters and program activity records.
• Coordinate Welfare-to-Work and CalFresh sessions; develop employment portfolios and prep for job searches.
• Provide ongoing post-placement follow-up to monitor progress and support long-term employment stability.
