Job summary

ACCESS Academy in Fairfax, VA seeks an outward-facing Career Coach and Industry Liaison to connect students with internship and workforce opportunities across K-12, community college, and university contexts.

You will translate workforce trends into learning experiences, internships, and career pathways, coordinating with educators and partners to ensure coherent guidance for ACCESS Academy juniors and seniors.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
Experience in technology, STEM, workforce development, or partnerships.
Experience bridging K-12, community college, and university contexts.
Experience supporting students or early-career talent in internships or applied learning.
Understanding of workforce trends and credential pathways, especially in tech/data-rich fields.
Proven ability to build and sustain employer/industry relationships.
Strong communication across education and industry contexts; collaborative mindset.
Ability to translate labor-market signals into actionable insights with a team.

Responsibilities

Coach students to identify and pursue career pathways aligned with interests and emerging opportunities.
Support career exploration integrating academics, dual enrollment, problem-based learning, and hands-on experiences.
Help students develop portfolios and professional narratives reflecting real-world skills.
Collaborate with faculty and ACCESS staff to ensure aligned, developmentally appropriate guidance.
Engage with industry partners to understand hiring trends and credential pathways.
