Job summary

Chimes is seeking an Employment Consultant to support individuals in the Fairlawn/Southwest sub-areas, including Washington, Smyth, Wythe, Russell, Grayson and Scott, with on-site services in Charlottesville, VA. The role provides job development, placement, training, coaching, and ongoing employment supports at $23 per hour and full-time hours.

The position requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while working independently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate/bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel; ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide job development, job placement, training, and job coaching services.
• Deliver career skills training, life skills training, and employment supports.
• Provide systematic instruction on work tasks with fading instructional assistance.
• Facilitate natural support relationships between employers, coworkers, and the supported employee.
• Market services to referral sources and maintain referral pipelines.
• Support family members in maintaining the individual’s employment goals.
• Collaborate with adult service agencies and community organizations.
• Represent customer needs to supervisors and coworkers through education and guidance.
• Provide consumer status updates to agencies, referral sources, and management.
• Maintain extensive documentation in electronic systems, email, and reports.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
