Boulevard Career Center Manager
Responsibilities
Leadership and Customer Service
- Manages all aspects of the Boulevard Career Connections, ensuring the center is appropriately staffed and trained.
- Handles internal communication with Human Resources and hiring managers for company-wide openings.
- Manages external communication with local employers looking to hire program participants.
- Assists job seekers with enrollment, job search, and job placement process and assessment program.
- Resolves customer service matters while upholding Goodwill guiding principles.
General Program Administration and Staff Management
- Ensures compliance with Goodwill and CARF standards for program certification.
- Tracks grant‑funded program productivity goals, develops qualitative success stories and quantitative program statistics, and maintains enrollment system and case documentation required by grants.
- Provides day‑to‑day supervision of Career Center staff, including scheduling, documentation, performance evaluation, and ongoing training.
- Handles weekly payroll of team members, ensuring timely processing.
- Prepares weekly and monthly reports for executive management on service goals and grant statistics.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
- Assists with special projects assigned by the Director of Career Services.
- Participates in departmental, agency, and community meetings.
- Recommends technology improvements to support programmatic objectives.
Grant Management
- Assists and leads the team in meeting required annual enrollment requirements.
- Collaborates with the grant accountant on spending and invoice monitoring for fund reimbursement.
- Audits files for policy and procedure requirements as outlined by the grant.
- Ensures implementation of program success strategies such as Individual Training Plans and career assessments.
Job Development, Job Search and Placement Assistance
- Oversees Job Developer activities and shares data about the local job market.
- Ensures Job Developers develop job leads for ready‑to‑work candidates and refer job seekers to local employers.
- Establishes key performance indicators for job placement and collaborates with career coaches.
- Provides employment and career counseling, helping job seekers develop individualized action plans.
- Monitors budget to ensure all grant requirements are met in a timely manner.
- Schedules and conducts workshops for job seekers.
- Ensures job seekers obtain pre‑employment documents such as Sheriff’s Card and Health Card.
- Conducts timely follow‑up with job seekers to determine employment status.
Community Outreach and Employer Relationship Management
- Promotes Goodwill’s mission services to prospective employers, community groups, and job seekers.
- Represents the Veteran Integration Program at community forums and networking events.
- Assists in generating job leads for Boulevard Mall, Mobile Coaches, and Veteran Career Coaches.
- Contributes to partner employer profiles, databases, and related records.
- Participates in other projects as directed by management.
Training and Workshop Development
- Collaborates with Workshop Developer, Mission Leadership, and Career Center Manager to establish frameworks for engaging training using technology.
- Partners with community agencies, schools, colleges, and universities to secure spaces for content delivery.
- Monitors top trends and soft skills to refresh and audit training content annually.
Qualifications
- High school or GED completion; Bachelor’s degree in any related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in workforce development.
- Minimum 5 years of employment counseling, career counseling, job development and placement experience with individuals facing barriers to employment.
- Familiarity with the Las Vegas Valley labor market, business community, human services, and disability‑related issues.
- Ability to connect with people from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and counseling skills.
- Bilingualism is a plus.
- Exhibits high level of integrity and business ethics.
- Exhibits high adaptability and flexibility.
