Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a Career and Technical Education Teacher for Suwannee Correctional Institution, focused on Masonry. Qualifications

• A high school diploma or its equivalent and three (3) years’ experience in the CTE subject area being taught; or
• Possession of current licensure or certification(s) in the CTE being taught or a postsecondary certificate of completion (must submit transcript/certificate of completion) may substitute for up to one (1) year of the required experience.
• Must hold the applicable subject area license or industry certification or be willing to possess within 12 months of hire.
• Possess or be eligible to apply for a Temporary Florida Department of Corrections Educator’s Certificate or if applicable a temporary State of Florida Educator's Certificate.
• Successful applicants will be issued a Florida Department of Corrections CTE Temporary Educator’s Certificate; 5 years to obtain the Professional Certificate.

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Suwannee Correctional Institution in the Education Department. This position is for a Career and Technical Education (CTE) teaching position in Masonry.

Our mission in the Education Department is to provide comprehensive educational programs and services to inmates. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Job Duties

The incumbent in this position is responsible for teaching the assigned career and technical subject(s) to students at a correctional institution/facility. Duties include but will not be limited to the following:

Salary Incentives
