Job summary

State of Florida is seeking an Adult Education Teacher at Mayo Correctional Institution to deliver instruction in Math/Science, Reading-Language Arts, and Social Studies through a blended model. The role is housed within the Florida Department of Corrections Education Department to support inmate learning and reintegration.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree and Florida educator certification, with temporary certification options for non-certified applicants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university.
• Possess or be eligible to apply for State of Florida Educator's Certificate.
• Non-certified applicants must obtain a temporary State of Florida Educator’s Certificate within 12 months of hire.
• State of Florida Educator’s Professional Certificate must be obtained prior to the expiration of Temporary Certificate.

Responsibilities

This position is for an Adult Basic Education/GED® Instructor responsible for delivery of instruction in Math/Science, Reading-Language Arts and Social Studies through a blended instructional model.

The purpose of the Bureau of Education at the FDC is to provide comprehensive educational programs and services to inmates. Their goal is to enhance inmates' academic, vocational, and life skills, thereby promoting personal development and successful reintegration into society.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Salary Incentives
