Job description

A vacancy exists for the position of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Instructional Coach within the Chester County Intermediate Unit. The CTE Instructional Coach provides consultation, modeling, and training to CTE teachers in support of students in CCIU CTE programs. The coach promotes planning and implementation of instructional practices to increase CTE student achievement. By providing supportive, collegial, and non-evaluative assistance, the work of the coach is intended to improve instructional practices for student learning toward mastery of NOCTI competencies and industry certifications.

The CCIU is a dynamic educational service agency providing quality, innovative, and cost-effective programs and services to enhance the lives of students, educators, and members of our communities.

The CCIU provides services to the 12 school districts in Chester County, including nearly 86,000 public and non-public school students and over 6,000 educators. The Chester County Intermediate Unit was established by law in Pennsylvania in 1971. Working between the Pennsylvania State Department of Education and local school districts, the Intermediate Unit's mission is to provide services most efficiently at the regional level.

• Location: Based at the Educational Services Center, with travel to all three TCHS Campuses (West Grove, Downingtown, Phoenixville)

• Schedule: 7.5 hours/day, 194 days in Year 1, 191 days in Year 2, 190 days in Year 3 for new employees

Qualifications

• Active and Valid PDE Vocational II or Instructional II certificate required
• Knowledge of current research-based professional education practices, including collegial coaching and adult learning, related to CTE
• Active participation in continuing professional education

Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in required training and ongoing professional development
• Provide information, material preparation, modeling, consultation, and support to teachers regarding best practices in CTE instruction, including lesson planning, differentiating instruction, instructional adaptations, classroom management, and collaboration with parents and colleagues
• Assist vocational staff with navigating the Vocational Certification process
• Maintain accurate records of assignments and progress
• Respond promptly to the needs of assigned teachers

Salary Schedule 2025-26 School Year

• $61,300 - $92,110 with Instructional II Certification
• $65,394 - $100,586 with a Master's Degree
• $68,403 - $104,546 with Master's + 15
• $69,938 - $106,442 with Master's + 30
