Job summary

CAMBA is seeking an Advocate Counselor for the Learning to Work program in New York City. You will guide students toward graduation, coordinate supports, and connect families with community resources. You will maintain confidential records and collaborate with CAMBA staff to help students achieve their goals.

The role involves intake, counseling, referrals, and ongoing follow-up with students and graduates. Strong writing, organization, and data entry into Enginuity are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
• Ability to adapt to the culture and environment of a public school.
• Ability to write assessments, goals, progress notes, and reports.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional relationships with students and protect confidentiality.
• Conduct intake and assess student and family needs.
• Create and maintain student files and records.
• Refer students to community resources and CAMBA services.
• Follow up with students and referral organizations on progress.
• Counsel students in CAMBA offices, by phone or home visits.
