Job summary

Career Team in Elizabethtown, KY is seeking a Career Advisor to deliver intensive case management and career counseling to registered customers in the One‑Stop system. This full-time role reports to the Executive Director and is based in Elizabethtown, KY, with responsibilities spanning intake, eligibility, IEP development, and service referrals.

You will use MS Office and Google Workspace to document progress, maintain compliant records, and support participants toward employment goals through

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ year experience in training, counseling, case management, or related services.
  • 1+ year of case management experience; ability to read and interpret policies.
  • 1+ year of computer proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace.
  • 1+ year in a dynamic team with strong communication and professionalism.
  • Experience with a culturally diverse customer base and cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to motivate customers toward their goals.
  • Strong time-management to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide intensive case management services to registered customers within the One‑Stop system.
  • Complete intake and eligibility determination for the workforce program.
  • Enter data and process clients through the participant information system and other required databases.
  • Guide jobseekers through the preparation of Individual Employment Plans (IEP) based on their occupational goals.
  • Counsel clients on job opportunities, training programs, and other services.
  • Complete ITA vouchers and other documents for clients entering training.
  • Refer individuals to appropriate services and follow up on those activities.
  • Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs, and other group presentations.
  • Meet and exceed program benchmarks and participate in staff-related events such as training.
  • Maintain accurate case files meeting compliance requirements.

  • Provide intensive case management services to registered customers within the One‑Stop system.
  • Complete intake and eligibility determination for the workforce program.
  • Enter data and process clients through the participant information system and other required databases.

  • Counsel clients on job opportunities, training programs, and other services.
  • Complete Individual Training Account (ITA) vouchers and other documents for clients entering training.
  • Refer individuals to appropriate services and follow up on those activities.
  • Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs, and other group presentations.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations related to eligibility documentation.
  • Maintain accurate case files that meet compliance requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive IEPs for all customers.
  • Provide referral and tracking of eligible customers into contracted programs.
  • Meet and exceed program benchmarks and participate in staff‑related events such as training and supervision.
  • Complete all required reports.
  • Approach each day and task with a “ZAG” mindset.
  • Perform other duties and projects as needed.
To Qualify for This Role
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience in training, counseling, case management, or related services.
  • At least 1 year of case management experience and ability to read and interpret policies and procedures.
  • At least 1 year of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Drive).
  • At least 1 year of work in a dynamic team environment with strong communication, interpersonal skills, and professionalism.
  • Experience working with a culturally diverse customer base and ability to be culturally sensitive.
  • Ability to serve as a role model and motivate customers toward their goals.
  • Exceptional time‑management skills to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation.
Additional Skills/Knowledge Career Team Would Love for This Role
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of WIOA and TANF workforce development contracts/programs.
  • Strong multitasking ability and proactive attitude.
