Job Description

In this Career Advisor role, you will be an integral part of the Operational team, responsible for advising, monitoring, and tracking customer participation. This position counsels and assists customers with job search strategies, personal career advisement, and training needs. You will also help customers identify and work with barriers to employment. You will need to maintain accurate and complete records and ensure smooth transition of cases across services and programs. Managing day-to-day relationships with customers, ensuring their concerns are addressed promptly with a plan of action, is essential. You will critique resumes and maintain an understanding of a wide range of occupations and careers for effective placement. Demonstrating strategies for re-engaging customers after training, using the standards of the Case Management Model, and adhering to policies and procedures for Career Advisement are key responsibilities. You will:

  1. Ensure the delivery of high-quality, individualized services to customers.
  2. Protect and maintain confidentiality of participants' rights.
  3. Document customer success stories both internally and externally.
Qualifications

We are seeking a self-motivated and flexible team player with strong computer, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Creativity, goal-orientation, and the ability to work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines are important. The ideal candidate can relate to and motivate individuals, especially those facing barriers to employment. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field and/or 2+ years of experience in a career counseling role. Prior experience with workforce development or human services is a plus. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Additional Information

Pay rate: $26.00 per hour.
