Job Description

  1. Ensure the achievement of contract deliverables, staff satisfaction, and high-quality services to program participants as an emerging leader.
  2. Maintain strong knowledge of the state's TANF requirements and procedures; provide strengths-based case management and career/vocational advising to a caseload of program participants.
  3. Empower participants to achieve self-sufficiency by monitoring progress throughout the program cycle, from referral to retention and advancement.
  4. Adhere to the standards and procedures of the Career Advisor role, managing a caseload of up to 35 cases with active engagement and support through training and employment.
  5. Maintain expertise in WORCS and EARRS for accurate documentation and quality assurance.
  6. Keep updated on local resources, trainings, educational opportunities, and employers; facilitate community-based referrals.
  7. Develop and lead engaging curricula and workshops to motivate and support participant success.
  8. Innovate ideas to promote participant engagement and long-term success.
  9. Collaborate with leadership to identify and develop areas of expertise supporting program needs.
  10. Travel to satellite sites and communities as needed to support participants.
  11. Provide informal on-site support to new and existing staff and participate in training and onboarding as a mentor.
  12. Offer peer mentorship monthly to foster ongoing learning and leadership development.
  13. Utilize supervision effectively for personal and professional growth.
  14. Contribute to program success by working collaboratively with staff to meet organizational goals.
  15. Coordinate with the BSC to meet customer and program needs related to job placement.
  16. Implement quarterly customer work groups to address employment barriers and job readiness.
  17. Complete leadership training programs.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field or 3+ years of experience in career counseling, customer service, or social services.
  2. Experience as an Equus Career Advisor and/or Outreach Coordinator.
  3. Self-motivated, flexible, team-oriented, with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  4. Creative, goal-oriented, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  5. Ability to motivate individuals facing employment barriers.
