Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, Inc. (PPWI) seeks a Health Care Assistant for the Madison South Family Planning Health Center.

The role provides paid training to deliver clinical care and handle medical administrative tasks, with a base pay starting at $20.15 per hour and bilingual English/Spanish bonus of $1.50 per hour. Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited medical assistant technical program is preferred.
• Experience in reproductive health, family planning, obstetrics, gynecology or related medical/surgical experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs front office duties including greeting and registering patients, answering phones, making appointments, verifying third party insurance, enrolling patients in third party payor sources and collecting patient fees.
• Interviews, educates and documents patient history in EHR in compliance with agency policies and procedures.
• Obtains necessary signatures on consent forms.
• Assists clinical staff during exams and procedures and provides patient support.
• Prepares and cleans exam rooms and medical equipment per agency standards.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment operations and manages medical supply inventory.
• Performs laboratory tests and results and documents them accordingly.
• Performs vital signs, procedures and pelvic ultrasound under supervision.
• Dispenses contraception and medication per clinician orders; administers vaccines as needed.
• Follows safety and emergency policies; may travel to PPWI centers.
