Qualifications

• Must hold an active Pharmacist license in good standing with the California Board of Pharmacy.
• Formal training in non-sterile compounding or equivalent experience, with preference for veterinary compounding.
• Excellent attention to detail and high standards for accuracy and quality.

• Ability to problem-solve under pressure with calm, empathetic communication.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with veterinarians and clients to deliver prescriptions accurately and timely.
• Handle phone, email, and text inquiries; take new prescriptions and provide status updates.
• Enter prescriptions into the proprietary workflow system and process orders.
• Counsel clients on medications, usage, and instructions; monitor CRM for requests.
• Collaborate with lab, pharmacy, and logistics teams to ensure on-time delivery.
• Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients and veterinary partners.
• Navigate multiple online systems to troubleshoot, create orders, and track deliveries.

About The Role

• As a Care Pharmacist at Mixlab, you’ll play a key role in ensuring pets receive their medications accurately, safely, and on time while delivering an exceptional experience to veterinarians and pet parents. In this remote, customer facing role, you’ll communicate with veterinary practices and clients by phone, text, and email, process prescriptions, provide medication counseling, troubleshoot order needs, and collaborate closely with our pharmacy, lab, and logistics teams to ensure seamless delivery. We’re looking for a licensed pharmacist who thrives in a fast paced, team oriented environment, brings exceptional attention to detail and communication skills, remains calm and empathetic under pressure, and is comfortable navigating multiple systems and solving problems with a sense of urgency. Experience with non-sterile or veterinary compounding is strongly preferred, and above all, you must be passionate about providing outstanding care to pets and the people who love them.

What You’ll Do

• Professionally communicate with veterinarians and clients to get their furry family members their prescriptions in a timely manner:
• Handle phone calls, emails, and text messages from veterinarians and vet practice staff to answer questions, take information for new prescriptions, or provide status updates on orders
• Take prescriptions over the phone or by electronic means and enter orders into our proprietary workflow system
• Call vet practices when additional information or authorization is needed, or to relay client questions or concerns
• Counsel clients on different medications, needs, usages, and instructions
• Monitor our CRM and respond to prescriber and client requests.
• Delight our customers and build their loyalty through excellent customer service and a friendly, positive attitude:
• Quickly and efficiently handle communication with customers by responding to phone calls, text messages, or emails to answer questions, solve problems, and ensure that all of our customers’ needs are met
• Call customers when additional information is needed regarding their medication
• Inform customers of Mixlab’s values, policies and procedures, and occasionally “sell” Mixlab to new customers who are considering switching
• Follow Mixlab company workflow and processes to ensure smooth daily operations:
• Work closely with the lab and logistics teams to ensure orders are accurately scheduled and delivered to clients on time
• Communicate with other Mixlab pharmacists, technicians, and couriers to ensure that we always deliver on our promises to clients
• Use multiple online systems and platforms to find information, troubleshoot and solve problems, create and process orders, track deliveries, etc.
• Create prescriptions and online orders responsibly and correctly with extreme attention to detail
• Process payment information and schedule deliveries based on Mixlab’s delivery schedule and customer preference
• Work together with team members to ensure all orders are placed and all needs are met on a daily basis.

About You

• Must hold an active Pharmacist license in good standing with the board of pharmacy in California
• Resides in proximity to one of our 5 labs and are able to provide in person coverage as needed
• You have formal training in non-sterile compounding or equivalent experience, with preference given to veterinary compounding experience
• Your attention to detail is impeccable, and you have incredibly high standards for accuracy and quality
• You are collaborative and have a desire to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, startup environment
• You solve problems and make decisions under pressure while remaining calm, supportive, and understanding to clients.
• You have an all-hands-on-deck attitude with an ability to remain calm and excel under pressure
• You have the ability to empathize during difficult conversations and prioritize pet parents needs
• You have excellent communication skills - both written & verbal
• You have the ability to learn and adapt to changing software and platforms
• You have flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays

The Pay Range For This Role Is

60 - 66 USD per hour(US)
