Job summary

Vanderbilt Health in Nashville, Tennessee seeks compassionate Care Partners (Nursing Assistants) to assist with patient care and maintain unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Duties include venipuncture, Foley catheter care, specimen collection and other bedside care.

A resume is required with application. Schedule: Full-Time Night Shift – 6:45 pm to 7:15 am (three 12-hour shifts/week) with rotating weeks; orientation during first week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
• Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical), or Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required), or Minimum of one year of recent experience as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Assist with day-to-day delivery of patient care and facilitate safe patient care and flow by following area standards.
• Serve as liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs and support unit operations and patient flow.
