Job summary

Inspīr Senior Living in Washington, DC is seeking a compassionate Resident Care Partner (CNA/HHA) to support residents per individualized service plans within the Resident Care team.

You will assist with activities of daily living, medication self-administration, mobility, meals, and daily records, ensuring safety and quality care. This is a full-time role with competitive wages and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant or Home Health Aide certification and DC registration.
  • Minimum one year experience with seniors in residential or home settings.
  • Fluent English (speaking and reading).
  • Experience with dementia preferred.
  • CPR and basic first aid certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, mobility).
  • Assist with continence management and instrumental ADLs (meal prep, housekeeping, laundry).
  • Assist with self-administration of medications and daily records.
  • Support residents with mobility, safety and timely reporting of health changes to supervisor.
  • Encourage participation in social and recreational activities and life enrichment programs.
  • Maintain resident records and complete logs as required.

Position Summary: The Resident Care Partner is a key member of the Resident Care Team who nurtures and supports residents by providing care and service as outlined on each resident’s Individualized Service Plan (ISP) within the scope of the CAN and HHA training.

Accountabilities: The Resident Care Partner is accountable for upholding Inspīr standards and values, and for providing safe, effective and compassionate care, assistance and service to residents.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides outstanding customer service to all residents, family members, responsible persons, and visitors of residents in the community
  • Collaborates with other members of the Resident Care Team to ensure excellence in resident care and service delivery
  • Assists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing/showering, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, hygiene and mobility
  • Assists with continence management
  • Assists residents with instrumental activities of daily living, including meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, telephone use and bed making
  • Assists with resident technology, medical equipment, assistive devices, and supplies as needed
  • Assists residents with self-administration of medication
  • May accompany residents to hospitals, medical appointments and other destinations when necessary
  • Encourages residents to participate in social and recreational activities as indicated or needed
  • Assists with and participate in resident experience, life enrichment and lifestyle programs
  • Maintains an awareness of each resident’s general state of physical and mental health and reports any changes immediately to the Nursing Supervisor on duty and/or General Manager
  • Accurately and timely completes all records, including but not limited to care logs, incident reports, monthly weight documentation and medication receipt logs
  • Maintains resident records according to policy
  • Follows established protocols and reporting requirements for accidents and incidents
  • Assists residents in keeping apartments/units clean, neat and orderly
  • Answers calls for assistance from residents and attends to resident needs promptly
  • Assists with resident meal selection, service and feeding as assigned
  • Participates in on-going in-service and training programs
  • Understands and fully complies with Inspīr safety practices and procedures

Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification:

  • Successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant Program or Home Health Aide Program and registered in the District of Columbia
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must speak and read English fluently
  • Minimum one-year experience working with a senior population in residential or home setting
  • Experience working with people with dementia preferred
  • Free of communicable diseases
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification
