Job summary

Compass Senior Living in Roseburg, Oregon, seeks a Care Partner to provide compassionate daily living support to residents. Responsibilities include personal care, health observation, documentation, and engaging residents in activities.

The role may be part-time or full-time (approximately 32 hours per week) with a focus on safety and wellbeing. Qualifications include strong communication in English, ability to pass a background check, and a team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Assist elders with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Observe, document, and report changes in health or behavior to Wellness Team.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Assist with meals and light housekeeping as needed.

Responsibilities

• Offer companionship and engagement in activities.
• Assist with meals and feeding if required.
• Engage residents in social activities and family communication.

What You’ll Do

As a Care Partner, you can expect a range of responsibilities and tasks. Here are some general expectations:

• You will provide personal care: assist elders with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility, possibly with walkers and wheelchairs.
• You will provide health monitoring and documentation: observe, document, and report changes in the elder’s health or behavior to the Wellness Team.
• You will give emotional support: may support elders dealing with loneliness, anxiety, or other emotional challenges. Engaging in conversation, active listening, and offering companionship is part of your role.
• You will assist with Meals: help elders with meals and possibly feed elders who require additional support.
• You will engage in social and recreational activities: supporting elders in life-enriching activities for their well-being.
• You will connect: Communicate with elders, their families, other team members, and guests.
• You will keep things clean: may involve light housekeeping, such as tidying up and ensuring general cleanliness.

What You’ll Bring

• You will bring a willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
• You will bring good verbal communication and the ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English.
• You will bring licensing documentation (if required by your state) and be able to pass a criminal background check.
• You will bring the ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.
