Job summary

West Village Post Acute in Greenville, SC is seeking a dedicated Chef to lead our food service in a long-term care setting. You will prepare nutritious, appealing meals for residents while ensuring high standards of safety and sanitation.

This full-time role offers 30 hours per week across three 10-hour shifts at a pay range of $22–$23 per hour. Culinary school education preferred with at least five years of professional cooking experience, ideally in healthcare or high-volume kitchens.

Qualifications

• Culinary school education preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of professional cooking experience, preferably in healthcare, hospitality, or a high-volume kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe certification a plus).
• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player with strong communication and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and dietary restrictions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with facility menus and resident dietary needs.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
• Coordinate with the Dietary Manager and Dietitian to accommodate therapeutic and texture-modified diets.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and efficiency in the kitchen.
• Demonstrate excellent time management and attention to detail during meal prep and service.
• Lead and collaborate with dietary team members to promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.
• Contribute creativity and input for menu planning and special events.
