Job summary

Harry Meyering Center, Inc. is seeking a cook to prepare meals, plan menus, and ensure nutritious options meet dietary needs for individuals we support. You will work hands-on in our kitchen at Minnesota locations, delivering meals with care and respect.

The role includes early shifts, training, and staying compliant with health policies; a valid driver's license is required for shopping and supplies. We offer paid training, a retention bonus, and benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Prior cooking experience or training is not required.
• Must be self-motivated and exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have basic knowledge of technology programs and be willing to learn technology for daily charting.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and pass a driving record check by our insurance carrier.
• Must pass an MN Department of Human Services Background Study.

Responsibilities

• Interact with individuals genuinely and respectfully.
• Support and/or provide for the dietary needs of individuals.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, support team‑oriented work environments, and provide safe working environments.
• Attend and complete all required training and in‑services.
• Prepare meals according to the schedule and individual dietary needs.
• Pursue professional growth and development.
• Must deliver groceries and pick up supplies in all types of weather.
• Maintain HIPAA Compliance in all written or verbal communications, both external and internal to HMC.
• Follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
