Job summary

Life Care Centers of America is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform quality maintenance tasks in our facility, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

The role supports preventive maintenance, inspections for safety, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with at least one year of maintenance experience being desirable.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Maintenance Assistant provides quality maintenance functions to the facility in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of one (1) year maintenance experience preferred
• Proven knowledge of various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems preferred
• Knowledge of local building codes and ordinance preferred

Specific Job Requirements

• Valid driver’s license in current State with satisfactory driving record per Life Care standards
• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
• Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
• Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
• Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
• Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
• Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
• Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’sCode of Conductand completes mandatoryCode of Conductand other appropriate compliance training

Essential Functions

• Assist with preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements

• Run errands, handle incoming and outgoing freight, and lift and move heavy furniture and equipment
