Job summary

ROMAN EAGLE REHABILITATION AND HEALTH CARE CENTER is seeking dependable Laundry Aides to join our Environmental Services team in Danville, VA. You will handle sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and resident clothing, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment for residents and staff.

The role focuses on processing and distributing laundry efficiently, following infection control procedures, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write at a basic level and follow oral and written instructions.
• Previous laundry experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to infection control and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Collect, weigh, sort, and process soiled laundry.
• Operate commercial washers and dryers using established procedures.
• Treat stained items with appropriate stain-removal agents as needed.
• Sort, fold, count, stack, and prepare clean laundry for distribution.
• Distribute linens and resident clothing to nursing units and other departments.
• Label facility linens and resident personal clothing as needed.
• Process contaminated laundry according to established infection control procedures.
• Inspect linens and clothing for damage and report repair or replacement needs.
• Maintain accurate laundry records as assigned.
• Clean laundry equipment and work areas daily and maintain a safe work environment.
• Report malfunctioning or damaged equipment to the supervisor.
