Job summary

Texas Physical Therapy Specialists in Austin's Mueller area is seeking a Full Time Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our clinic team. You will be the first voice and face patients encounter, handling check-in, scheduling, insurance verification, and phone inquiries.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, strong communication and multitasking skills, and comfort with EMR systems and scheduling software.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Comfort using computers, phones, scheduling systems, EMR, email, and basic spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, professional first impression for patients, visitors, and referral sources.
• Manage front desk operations including check-in/out, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, and phone calls.
• Review and follow up on referrals, update patient records, and guide patients on next steps.
• Maintain patient flow by confirming appointments, managing waitlists, cancellations, and future visits.
• Collect copays and other payments accurately and maintain basic reconciliation; protect HIPAA privacy.

Texas Physical Therapy Specialists, a member of the Confluent Health family, is looking for a Full Time Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our Mueller team!

• Pay:$15-$18/Hour

• Full Time Schedule Needed: Mon/Wed: 10am-7pm Tues/Thurs:7am-5pm, Fri: 7am-4pm
• Bilingual: English/Spanish Preferred!

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, professional first impression for patients, visitors, and referral sources
• Manage front desk operations including patient check-in, check-out, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, and phone calls
• Review, schedule, and follow up on incoming referrals by gathering information, creating or updating patient records, and helping patients understand next steps
• Keep patient flow and schedules moving by confirming appointments, working waitlists, filling cancellations, and following up with patients who need future visits
• Collect copays, balances, and other patient payments accurately and professionally, including basic payment tracking or reconciliation when needed
• Protect patient privacy and uphold HIPAA standards in all front desk interactions and documentation

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in a medical front desk, healthcare reception, physical therapy, chiropractic, dental, or similar clinical office setting preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, organization, multitasking, and follow-up skills
• Comfort using computers, phones, scheduling systems, electronic medical records, email, and basic spreadsheets
• Ability to discuss payments, scheduling expectations, and basic insurance information with professionalism
• A calm, patient-centered approach with strong attention to detail and a willingness to help the team
