Gastro Health is seeking a Full-Time Care Coordinator in Kendall, FL to support physicians and patients with comprehensive care coordination. The role emphasizes administrative tasks, patient communication, and scheduling while promoting work-life balance with Monday–Friday hours and no weekends or evenings.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) preferred.
  • 2+ years experience as medical assistant required.
  • Medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Handle administrative tasks for the physician/provider.
  • Coordinate the patient’s medical care as liaison/coordinator.
  • Streamline patient-physician communications to ensure satisfaction.
  • Provide medical literature and clinical prep instructions to patients.
  • Assist patients with questions/concerns regarding procedures.
  • Schedule all procedures to be performed by the physician.
  • Review the physician’s schedule for scheduling efficiency.
  • Schedule diagnostic tests, procedures and follow-up appointments.
  • Obtain authorizations for procedures and tests.
  • Call patients to confirm procedures a week in advance.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments including recalls.
  • Check-out patients and provide next steps.
  • Request medical records from doctors and hospitals.
  • Return patient calls promptly and professionally.
  • Call-in new prescriptions and refills and obtain authorization if necessary.
  • Obtain lab results including stat requests.
  • Complete tasks from EMR system.
  • Review open orders every three days and act accordingly.
  • Contact patients with test results.
  • Send history and physical forms to outpatient facility.
  • Other duties as assigned

Duties you will be responsible for:

Minimum Requirements:


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) preferred

  • 2+ years experience as medical assistant required

  • Medical terminology knowledge
