Job summary

Molina Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide support for the Care Connections team in Long Beach, CA. You will contact members after appointments to ensure understanding and assist with navigation of the health care system.

You will coordinate with providers, support care management and referrals for high-risk members, and help with lab communications and administrative duties to reinforce quality, cost-effective member care.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Prior CMA certification is preferred but not required.
• Experience with patient care terminology and medical coding basics.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care between members and providers after appointments to support navigation and outcomes.
• Communicate with providers to clarify orders and escalate issues.
• Support care management assignment processing and referrals for high-risk members.
• Escalate issues related to prior authorizations and durable medical equipment.
• Share lab results and exam findings with members and providers.
• Assist nurse practitioners with follow-up and health issue communication.
• Send electronic messages/faxes to providers to support care coordination.
• Prepare lab result letters and coordinate follow-up on results.
• Fulfill nurse practitioner supply orders and maintain inventory.
• Handle administrative tasks: calls, emails, and updating member records.
• Conduct follow-up calls to ensure positive member experience.
