Job summary

Lake Forest College invites applications for the full-time, exempt position of Coordinator for CARE (Community, Advocacy, Resources, and Empowerment). The Coordinator collaborates with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners to develop educational programs, advise student organizations, promote dialogue across difference, and support campus-wide inclusion initiatives.

This role also assists with CARE Center operations, assessment efforts, and climate initiatives, and may require evenings

• Experience working with diverse student populations in higher education.
• Experience advising student organizations and leadership development.
• Experience planning and implementing educational programs and campus events.
• Ability to facilitate discussions on identity, belonging, and community.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to collaborate across departments.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Advise identity-based, culturally focused, and spiritual/religious/faith-based student organizations, supporting leadership development.
• Support educational, social, and cultural programs that foster belonging and engagement.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor CARE student employees, interns, and student leaders.
• Collaborate with campus partners to integrate CARE initiatives into the student experience.
• Coordinate pre-Orientation New Student program.
• Coordinate and facilitate educational workshops and dialogue programs on identity and belonging.
• Serve as a facilitator for campus conversations and educational programs.
• Support CARE Center operations, calendar, and communications.
• Assist with campus climate initiatives, focus groups, and surveys.
• Represent CARE during admissions programs, orientation, and events.
